A young Aboriginal woman has recently moved to an isolated mining town with her man. When he has to set up camp at a far-off mining site, she is left to spend more time on her own, but she begins to question whether she is really alone. After her dog runs away, the history of the little shack she calls home begins to come alive. Plains Empty is a story about a young woman surviving in a harsh and alien environment, where her only company is the ghost of a little girl and a grumpy old man across the plains. Filmed at 8-Mile, Coober Pedy. The dog is local, Victoria 'T-Bone' Atkins, otherwise known as Vicki. She only needs two words, "Git it!" and she will chase after any thing on wheels. Even gets excited when her owner grabs the handles of his wheelbarrow.
